A Kenya itinerary for travelers seeking the extraordinary

This 10-day itinerary explores northern Kenya, a region less frequented than the Masai Mara but of incomparable natural richness. It focuses on endemic species that few safaris offer the chance to see.

Ol Pejeta's Black Leopard

Ol Pejeta is the largest private game reserve in East Africa. It is home to one of the last remaining populations of Kenyan black rhinos, as well as chimpanzees roaming in semi-freedom. It was also in this area that the melanistic black leopard, one of the rarest felines in the world, was photographed for the first time in Africa in decades. Sightings of this population remain exceptional, but the reserve is one of the few places where it is possible.

The Samburu National Reserve

Samburu is unique in East Africa for its endemic wildlife. The "Special Five" of Samburu comprises five species found nowhere else in Kenya: the reticulated giraffe, Grévy's zebra, the beisa oryx, the gerenuk, and the gerenuk. These species, adapted to the arid zones of northern Kenya, provide an extraordinary complement to the larger species of the Masai Mara.
