This safari will take you to the country's most iconic locations: from the Kibale Forest to Queen Elizabeth II National Park, and the enchanting Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, famous for its mountain gorillas. Your adventure concludes at Lake Mburo National Park and on the shores of the legendary Lake Victoria at Entebbe. Each stop is an immersion in Uganda's rich and untamed natural beauty.
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Landing in Entebbe: Upon your arrival at the international airport, a French-speaking guide will be there to welcome you and accompany you throughout your stay.

Lake Victoria Excursion: In the afternoon, embark on a boat trip on Lake Victoria, hoping to spot one of Africa's most remarkable and unusual birds: the shoebill. If you're lucky, you might see this prehistoric giant in its marshy habitat. Your arrival will be a unique and memorable experience.

Day 2: From Entebbe to Kibale
Route to Kibale
After a delicious breakfast, you will begin your journey to Kibale, renowned for its rainforests and chimpanzee population. The trip takes approximately 5 to 6 hours, with magnificent scenery along the way.

Upon arrival, you will be settled into your lodge, ideally located near the national park.
Chimpanzee observation
After lunch, embark on a guided walk in the forest in search of chimpanzees. This forest, one of the most biodiverse in the country, is a natural refuge for these fascinating primates. You will have the opportunity to observe their social behavior and interactions in their natural habitat.
You'll also be able to observe other primate species, exotic birds, and wild animals such as forest elephants, antelopes, and forest buffalo. This immersive hike will allow you to discover all the richness of the rainforest.

Day 3: Kibale
Morning in the forest
Start your day with a new trek in search of chimpanzees. This activity offers you the opportunity to explore other chimpanzee communities, following their tracks and sounds. This unforgettable experience will give you a better understanding of their social life and daily interactions.
Exploring the fauna and flora
In the afternoon, embark on a guided walk through the Kibale marshes. These wetlands, true sanctuaries for local wildlife, are home to rare birds, antelopes, and monkeys. You'll discover a different facet of the local biodiversity, fascinating for the diversity of species that thrive there.

Day 4: Kibale – Queen Elizabeth II National Park
Trip to Queen Elizabeth II National Park
After an early breakfast, you will depart for Queen Elizabeth II National Park, a journey of approximately 3 to 4 hours. This iconic park is renowned for its abundant wildlife, including lions, elephants, and a wide variety of birds.

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed to your lodge, ideally located near the park.
Safari in a 4x4 vehicle
In the afternoon, embark on a 4x4 safari to discover the park's exceptional wildlife. You will be amazed by the diversity of animals, such as lions, elephants, buffalo, and a multitude of brightly colored exotic birds.

Jour 5 : Parc national Queen Elizabeth II
Morning Safari
Rise early for a morning safari in the Kasenyi area, renowned for its opportunities to spot lions and leopards. This time of day is ideal for catching a glimpse of predators in action, offering an unforgettable experience.
Boat trip on the Kazinga Channel
After your midday meal, embark on a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel, an exceptional place to admire gatherings of hippos resting in the water, crocodiles on the banks and a multitude of colorful migratory birds.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth II - Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Journey to Bwindi
After a final breakfast near Queen Elizabeth II National Park, you will travel to Bwindi National Park, a journey estimated at 4 to 5 hours. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bwindi is one of the last sanctuaries in the world for mountain gorillas.
Arrival in Bwindi
Upon arrival, you will be shown to your accommodation, ideally located for exploring the region.
Rest and exploration
The afternoon will be free, leaving you the choice between resting after the journey or going for a walk around the lodge to discover the wonders of this impenetrable forest.

End your day with a peaceful night in your pavilion, in complete harmony with the surrounding nature.
Day 7: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Gorilla trekking
This morning, experience one of the most anticipated moments of your trip: the excursion to meet the gorillas! Accompanied by an experienced guide, you will set off in search of these gentle giants. This intimate encounter with the gorillas in their natural habitat will undoubtedly be a moving and unforgettable moment of your expedition.
Return to the lodge
After this intense and memorable experience, enjoy the afternoon relaxing at the lodge or going for a short walk in the enchanting surroundings of Bwindi.

Day 8 : Bwindi – Lake Negro - Safari or Lake Negro
Heading to Lake Mburo National Park
Embark on your final safari leg in the heart of Lake Mburo National Park, a true haven for wildlife. This park is renowned for its giraffes, zebras, and impalas, providing an idyllic setting to conclude your adventure in style.
Day 9: From Lake Mburo to Entebbe
Back to Entebbe and the end of the adventure
After a final safari at Lake Mburo, you will travel to Entebbe, a journey of approximately 4 to 5 hours. Upon arrival, a transfer to the airport will be arranged for your international flight.

Uganda's Great Apes in 9 Days
This itinerary is built around the two most intense primate experiences Uganda has to offer, complemented by the vast savannahs of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The gorilla trek in Bwindi
The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is home to approximately half of the world's mountain gorilla population, fewer than 500 individuals. The trek to reach a habituated group takes between one and eight hours, depending on the group's location that day. Each group of visitors is allotted one hour in the presence of the gorillas. A gorilla permit is mandatory and must be booked several months in advance. Fundis'Africa manages this booking as part of its comprehensive tour package.
Kibale's chimpanzees
Kibale Forest is home to the highest density of chimpanzees in Africa, with over 1,500 individuals. The chimpanzee trek takes place in a tropical rainforest very different from the savanna: the sounds, smells, and dense vegetation create a completely different immersion from a classic vehicle safari.
Le Queen Elizabeth National Park
Between these two primate experiences, Queen Elizabeth National Park offers traditional savannah drives, with lions, elephants, buffalo and exceptionally rich birdlife on the shores of Lake Edward.
